I believe this book will appeal to two different groups: science fiction fans as it will have some light science fiction elements to it, as well as fans of a great sociological drama.
The average reader will probably be around 18-45 years old, both male and female, and be interested in “what if” type situations.
As a book under 250 pages, I think it will have mass appeal as something easy for people to pick up and read in a single sitting.
The competition would be fierce since I wouldn’t want to spin this as a science fiction book, nor a disaster book, but I’d like to appeal to both of those genre focused audiences. This means competing against those titles for attention, but also lends a larger audience than if we focus in on just the disaster book readers.
